Hannah Steininger, MA

As a child-centered, non-directive play therapist, Hannah believes that play is a child’s natural language—and a powerful tool for expression and healing. She is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can process emotions, build resilience, and feel truly seen.
Hannah’s path to becoming a therapist has been deeply shaped by her own life experiences. At 15, she was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease, resulting in gradual vision loss. This personal journey gave her a profound understanding of grief, change, and emotional growth—insight that fuels her commitment to holding space for others as they navigate their own challenges.
Hi, I'm Hannah!
Therapeutic strengths include: Hannah’s therapeutic strengths are grounded in the core principles of the child-centered approach—empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence—creating a supportive space where children feel safe to express themselves and grow at their own pace. She brings a playful spirit and a warm sense of humor into her work, which helps children feel at ease and builds the trust needed to explore both joyful and challenging emotions.

Therapeutic Approach
As a pre-licensed play therapist, Hannah uses a non-directive, child-centered approach that honors each child's natural ability to express themselves, process experiences, and grow through play. She believes that children are inherently capable and resilient, and that healing unfolds when they are given a safe, supportive space to lead the way at their own pace. In her work, Hannah follows the child’s lead—allowing them to explore, create, and communicate in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to them. Through this approach, she aims to foster emotional expression, self-understanding, and inner confidence, while supporting the development of healthy relationships and coping skills.
