Join us as we talk about self-awareness and how our own histories, identities, and emotional worlds shape the work that we do and informs our presence in our congregations.
This collaborative group will allow participants to take a closer look at their own inner selves that inform their ministry and larger community engagement. Through guided reflection, conversation, and education, we may examine topics such as:
- How our own cultural, social, and spiritual identities shape our understanding of others and our work.
- How our family stories and formative experiences influence our presence.
- The emotional patterns we bring into our relationships and congregational life.
- What it means to cultivate a grounded and self-aware presence
- How increased awareness can strengthen our work with others.
We hope participants will leave with a deeper understanding of themselves and equipped with new tools to support a more intentional and emotionally healthy presence within their congregations.
We will provide light snacks. You are welcome to bring your own lunch as well.
Self in Service: Knowing Ourselves to Better Serve in Our Ministry
This group will be held on Tuesdays from noon to 1:30 for ten weeks. The first week will be May 26th and continue through July 28th.
In order to foster a collaborative atmosphere, it is helpful if you are able to attend most of the sessions
