No sand tray needed! These fun little representations have a wonderful way of engaging imaginative storied play. Mini figures engage with the symbolic and invite the unconscious into a physical form. This ability of mini figures to engage hidden information within us is often incredibly valuable for clients who are stuck or having a hard time moving past cognitive road blocks. This class will demonstrate how a simple collection of mini figures can be used therapeutically from several theoretical frameworks.
This training on play therapy is meant to give therapists new tools and expand their repertoire of techniques for moving therapy forward. Therapy with kids and adolescents is different, and it requires learning new arenas & languages to facilitate growth and healing. These classes are built on sound therapeutic theory and will focus on the application of specific tools through demonstration and interaction.
